What is my Jerusalem...?

What is really today my Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and outermost part of the earth? Acts 1:8
Answer:
I am answering this question based on the assumption that you are referring to Acts 1:8,
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” --Acts 1:8 NIV
Jesus is calling his followers to be witnesses. He is summoning them to attest to all that they have seen and experienced. He then gives them geographic direction on this calling. He first calls them to Jerusalem, then Judea and Samaria, and then to the ends of the earth. This calling is lived out by these followers as they witness in Jerusalem in Acts 2:42-8:3. Their witness then moves to a wider geographic circle in Acts 8:4-12:24, and finally to Rome in Acts 12:25-28:31. The gospel will eventually and still continues to move across the entire globe fulfilling Jesus’ words in this verse.
Now to answer your question, the early followers are called to establish their witness first in the city in which they were currently residing. In this sense, “our Jerusalem” would be the city of our current residence. It may even be as local as our current neighborhood. We are called to take the gospel to the ends of the earth, but we must remember that Jesus first calls us to “witness” right where we are first.
Nevertheless, we must keep in mind that the idea of their being witnesses beyond Jerusalem and Judea was revolutionary. The inclusion of Gentiles in the Kingdom of God would be an idea that would take time to warm up to. So while we are to witness in our Jerusalem, we must not stop there. We must be willing to cross cultural, geographical, and societal difference with our “witness”, taking it to the “ends of the earth”.
Great question!
