iTunes U
iTunes is one of my favorite toys. It’s easy to use, fast, and offers so many different things - music, movies, podcasts, to name a few. One other really cool feature iTunes has to offer is something called iTunes U. Basically, a bunch of colleges, universities, and seminaries have been recording class lectures and posting entire classes on iTunes . . . free of charge!
I have been listening to the History of Christianity I class from the Reformed Theological Seminary, and found it to be fascinating. I’m not overly reformed in theology, but I do love history, especially church history. You must understand, I grew up in a church where everyone, including the pastor, was totally ignorant of church history. In fact, that denomination now refuses to teach even their own denomination’s history to students in their Bible colleges!
That’s another blog . . . I’d encourage you, if you use iTunes, to check out iTunes U. There are several seminaries with classes ranging from church history to theology, leadership, and even elementary Greek & Hebrew! You can also access many other universities and classes. Granted, you won’t earn a PhD listening to iTunes U, but you can learn a lot in the process.
