About Children's Ministry
Children's Ministry at Central Baptist is about inspiring, encouraging and equipping parents to pass on the truth of God's word to their children. So often these days families are rushed from soccer, to piano, and then to cub scouts. Many families are rushing through life without giving proper care to their children's spiritual development. At times, families turn to the church asking the church to take care of this task. However, the church only has each child for 2-3 hours per week. That means over the course of a year, the church has a child for maybe 150 hours. When you compare that to the time mom and dad have with their children, there is no comparison. Truly, Christian education works best in the home. Moses knew this principle when he told moms and dads to talk about scripture when they lie down, when they get up, and when they walk along the road. He knew that faith is best passed down in the home. This is why we are working hard to inspire, encourage and equip parents to take the spiritual development of their children seriously. Although the spiritual development of children is primarily the parent's responsibility, we are called as a church to partner with parents in this vital undertaking. We provide virtue packs to help parents teach the Bible to their children. We also encourage parent interaction in our kids production, Kids 2:52.
