From Our Worship Arts Leader
Recently, we were able to upgrade our acoustic drum set to a Roland V-Drums electronic kit (thanks to the generosity of a few of our members). These semi-professional electronic drums have already improved volume and mix control, as well as overall sound quality, and we haven't really gotten them tuned yet! Now that our new kit is in place, we have an old, acoustic set of Tama drums in "storage."
At Central, we try to avoid putting things into indefinite storage when they could be used by someone else. Our old acoustic drums fall into this category. This is a nice set which can and should be used to make music. After meeting with the Worship Coordinators, as well as several leaders serving in the Worship areas, where the drums were most frequently used, we have come up with a plan to ensure our drums will be used and raise money for the continued upgrading of our audio system (we are getting closer all the time to finishing). The unanimous recommendation was to hold a silent auction for the set. The "street value" of the drums is approximately $450. If you are interested, I will be accepting closed bids until July 31. At that time, the drums will be sold to the highest bidder. To bid, please e-mail me at andy@cbcspringfield.org.
All of the proceeds from the drum auction will be put toward the continued upgrading of our audio system. We have a few pieces left to finish out the project, including a new main speaker system, better monitor speakers for the singers and choir, and wireless handheld microphones.
Thanks!
