Georgie Borchardt
Georgie comes to Central Baptist Church by Statement of Christian Experience. She was born in the Chicago area and lived in other areas before settling in Springfield. She has degrees in Journalism, Public Relations and Speech Communication. She has worked in advertising, public relations, event planning and promotion, and as a college speech and communication instructor. She is currently a professional pageant coach to teenagers and adults. Her interests include art and art history, graphic design, architecture, theater and dance. She has two children and three grandchildren and a cat named Amigo.

Misty Carver
Misty is a member of our JOY Class (for developmentally disabled). She heard about the JOY Class from the other class members she worked with at Goodwill. Misty grew up in Nokomis. She enjoys hook rugs, crafts, gospel music and reading (especially her Bible). She enjoys the music at Central. The JOY class is working on memorizing and understanding the Lord's Prayer and she is excited about that. She says that God worked a miracle in her by providing a new kidney so she wouldn't have to stay on dialysis. Misty enjoys receiving and reading her own mail.


Margie Coleman
After searching for a church home for 30 years, she began attending Central when her son, Eric got married here. She felt loved by the church and decided this is where she would make her spiritual home. Margie is married to Cary and they have four children. Margie enjoys reading, walking, and playing board games and cards.


Brenna Harris
Brenna is a freshman at Springfield High and is an active member of our youth group. She lives with her parents, Phil and Jackie, and her brother Brent. Her friends Nikki and Jessica Reynolds introduced her to Central and the Big Stuf youth conference. Brenna says Big Stuf “helped me get in more touch with God. I want to become even more involved with the church.” Brenna is an avid reader, reading about nine books a week! She also enjoys running, playing tennis and shopping.

Sherry Masalski
Sherry Masalski was born in Trenton, NJ and accepted Christ as her Savior in Bucks County, PA at the age of 26. Her grown children and grandchildren live in North Carolina and Pennsylvania. Some of her interests include singing in the church choir, going to see movies, baking pumpkin bread and making potato salad. Sherry lives in downtown Springfield and her mother and sister and her family also live in Springfield. The little ones here in Springfield bring her great joy! Sherry wants us to know she finds the people here at CBC are very caring folks. She joined Central Baptist Church by transfer of letter.


Tom & Susie Parks
Tom works for Central Illinois Trucks and enjoys golfing and spending time with his family. Susie spent four years in the Army and most recently worked for the State of Illinois. She enjoys golf and taking their girls to the park. Susie also enjoys history, politics, and reading mysteries. Both Tom and Susie love to cook. Tom and Susie and their 10 year old daughter, Dakota, and 10 month old daughter, live here in Springfield.

Jessica Reynolds
Jessica lives at home with her parents Ray and Judy Reynolds and sister Nikki and is a sophomore at Franklin High School. Her grandparents are also members of Central, Ray and Barb Reynolds. Jessica enjoys being an active part of our youth group. (Thank you to Paige Martin and Emily Aldag for inviting her and her sister to Face 2 Face.) Jessica's hobbies are drawing, fishing, camping, track, movies, singing, driving and hanging out at Face 2 Face. She plans to pursue a career in nursing.

Nikki Reynolds
Nikki lives at home with her parents Ray and Judy Reynolds and sister Jessica and is a freshman at New Berlin High School. She was introduced to Central by her grandparents, Ray and Barb Reynolds. She, like her sister, is an active part of our youth group. She enjoyed her trip to Big Stuf so much that she would like to intern there or with Compassion International (through which she sponsors a child, Muhammed). Nikki's hobbies include playing her guitar, singing, songwriting, reading, playing soccer and football and hanging out with friends. This young woman is not shy in front of crowds or bashful about sharing her musical and acting talents, and she also played a leading role in the Diary of Anne Frank - twice. Cheryl Teele
Cheryl Teele joined our Central Baptist Church family by transfer of letter. She enjoys collecting stamps, old postcards, thimbles, and children’s books. She also enjoys visiting antique shops, Lincoln Memorial Gardens and the civil war era section of Oak Ridge Cemetery. She has two dogs, Hannah Chloe and Oliver Benjamin, and a parakeet. She enjoys her work as a teacher’s assistant and personal assistant.

Lindsay Foster
Lindsay Foster joined Central Baptist Church by Christian experience. She is the proud mother of a 3 year old daughter Emily. Lindsay serves in the Air National Guard and is currently engaged in technical training in Texas. We look forward to learning more about her when she returns to the Springfield area.


Nichole Palsen
Nichole Palsen joined Central Baptist Church by profession of faith and baptism. Nichole grew up in Carlinville and recently relocated to Springfield. She currently works at Mario's Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria. Nichole also enjoys working with the JOY class here at Central. She lives with her dad and step-mom, Philip and Erika Palsen.
