Topical Class: Intersect Culture

During the Sunday School hour at 9:45 a.m. February 24 through March 30, a topical study titled “Intersect Culture” is being offered. It will be held in the Member Care Pastor’s office. The format includes DVD, scripture and discussion and will be facilitated by Rev. Mary Ellen Sharp. The topic helps us explore how we, as followers of Christ, can be counterculture for the common good. The topics for this 6 week study are as follows:

Begin: God calls the church to be counterculture for the common good
Dwell: When we live closely with others, we find new opportunities to minister
Unite: We serve more effectively and joyfully when we serve together
Reconcile: God wants to heal our racial and ethnic divisions, especially in and through his church
Invest: Transforming entire communities begins when we give ourselves to people, one by one
Abide: Spiritual disciplines help us to abide in Christ so we can serve faithfully

If you have been wondering how you can make a bigger impact in the lives of people around you, consider attending this study.

Through the stories of others, through God’s word to us and through our own discussions in the class we will together learn how to be more effective in our witness in this community.

To register for this class, contact the church office (office@CBCspringfield.org or 523-3639) or sign up using a registration card available soon.
